Sorry for you but in Puerto Rico have many of this animals ( salamanders) and yes they climb walls ! Ok .. Salamander of this type like eat fly and bugs arounds a lights in the houses ! And yes they are salamanders no geckos

Salamanders don't climb on walls, geckos do. That is a Gecko, the only problem is that I can't say for sure which kind of gecko it is. (Hemidactylus frenatus)
