Phytolacca americana

Description:

This green plant can grow to between 3 and 10 ft. The berries on the pokeweed start out a shade of green and then when they're ripe they turn a shiny purple. When the berries fully mature they cause the leaf to droop. They can be found growing along creek banks, pond margins, ditches, roadsides, etc.
