The Asteroid

Cucullia asteroides

Description:

Didn't get a measurement, but it was a pretty good size. I'd say two inches, maybe,

Habitat:

Area with Goldenrod and Milkweed. On the grounds of Lauritzen Gardens.

Notes:

Also know as Goldenrod Hooded Owlet, but I think The Asteroid sounds cooler. This caterpillar dropped into my hand as I was trying to photograph it. When I tried to put it back on the plant, it stiffened and jumped into the air a bit, landing back on the plant.
