Large Artichokes in bloom for sale at a Roadside Stand. I asume these were for decoration
Found in gardens around the World. We were driving from Schliersee, Germany to Linz, Austria
They are a salad after a little steaming with olive oil and garlic red wine nearby! Yoy chew the tender end opposite the sharp point. (normally removed).
The flowers are gorgeous!!! This is actually the first time I've ever seen them in bloom! I've always picked them prior to blooming. ;-)
