Spider wasp

Anoplius marginalis

Description:

approx. 1 1/4 inches long

Habitat:

spotted in sparse area of lawn

Notes:

A friend pointed this wasp out to me; she was trying to place a spider in a burrow. When it didn't fit well, she stashed it in a bit of grass and began to dig in the burrow again. She then dragged the spider back to the burrow.
