I just googled it & it is a member of the malvacaea family (the mallows)! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malvaceae
Right AGAIN, Ashish. I don't know about the India connection right now, but it is an invasive in Florida.
Ashish, many Western garden favorites originated in Asia - rhododendrons, camellias, many of the roses etc, so it may well be grown in the US. The flowers do look similar to some species of hibiscus so I'm guessing probably all part of the same family. Lavatera is an old English cottage garden plant - I know it as mallow but it may well have other names.
I know Urena lobata is mostly Indian...right..?
Ashish, I think more likely to be a mallow (Lavatera sp.) as the leaves are similar - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavatera

Looks like a wild species of mallow.
Can be one in Hibiscus family.
