These were growing at the Inka Terra Hotel. They claim to have over 370 species of orchids with 8 new varieties reported. I was there when this was one of two in bloom. Ouch!

You had a nice time at Machu Picchu didn't you?! I reckon this is a Maxillaria but couldn't say which without a decent ref. book. There's a VERY nice book on orchids of Peru http://www.yorkstreet.com/orchids/ but I'd need to be a lot better off to get me one!
