Vermilion flycatcher

Pyrocephalus rubinus

Description:

Part of the so called "tyrant" family. They prefer open fields and hunt insects from a perch. Males are the brightly colored ones; females more drab so it won´t attract attention to the nest.

Notes:

Quite common around here.
