Tarantula

Theraphosidae

Description:

This tarantula was camera shy and tried to hide under the tire of this parked vehicle. Once I was done photographing it, the tarantula was gently and safely relocated out of the roadway in a safe area. My first live tarantula spotting, ever.

I agree! I carry it all the time now. One reason why I use a compact :)

I've only seen dead ones!!! I've learned to always haul my camera on my mid-day walks. So many days = nothing. But the days that I find things, it's so worth it. :)

Awesome! I've only seen one after a summer rain but of course, I didn't have a camera :p
