Pickerel Frog

Lithobates (Rana) palustris

Description:

It was a chilly October day and we were surprised to see this frog jumping around in the leaves near a river. It has two dorso-lateral ridges along its back and quite distinctive coloration, markings all over its body. Any ideas?

Habitat:

Woods along a river in Bucks County, PA USA
