Bubble Rafting Snail

Janthina exigua

This is a spotting I made in 2006 and by very strange coincidence 5 years ago today. I was walking the beach one morning and the tide line was full of these bubble rafting snails, all washed up on the sand. I had no idea what they were when I found them but came across a photo a few years later on Flickr with a name, then last week I saw an article on The National Geographical FaceBook page so thought it might be of interest to put the spotting on here

I've always wanted to see these! And I love the little blue buttons too! I didn't know they could be so small
