Fire Salamander

Salamandra salamandra

Small, up to 5 cm long Fire Salamander. They have flattened heads with short, somewhat rounded snouts. The basic color is black with yellow markings. Their skin is shiny in appearance.

During the day, they live in shallow burrows tunneled into the moist humus or under stones, logs, or other debris.

I saw this cute salamander roaming in the leafs near waterfall in the middle of the day.
