Fringe Tree

Chionanthus Virginicus

Description:

Height- 10'-20' tall. Shape- Skinny and tall. Branches- Short-medium length, skinny and brittle. Bark- Flat on the tree, feels like there is no bark. A little bumpy. Leaves- Rounded, very thin. Seeds- Flower buds.

Habitat:

The Fringe Tree is behind the school building and right next to a pond. It is surrounded by a pond, pine trees, bushes, and a few other small trees.

This is probably a Bradford pear tree which is grown as an ornamental tree for its showy springtime flowers.
