Vanessa atalanta Red Admiral Caterpillar

Vanessa atalanta ( i think) [Linnaeus]

Description:

This Caterpillar was approximately 3-4inches in length. Had tri-forked spines covering it's entire body that appear to be a reddish brown color and a popcorn kernel colored head. It thrashed violently when prodded with a twig. And is capable of being pretty QUICK!

Habitat:

Forrest.

Notes:

This little bugga almost got squashed while I was on my bike.
