(Winged) Rose Aphid

Macrosiphum rosae

Description:

Brown aphid with clear wings. There are black markings on top of abdomen and legs. You can see a lot of exoscelaton's left on the leaves. I cannot tell if these aphids recently emerged from them.

Thank you! I couldn't figure out why ambrosia would be on the roses :) I'll update my two spottings now.

If they are on your roses, they may be Rose Aphids (Macrosiphum rosae)?? See http://bugguide.net/node/view/248947
I don't think ambrosia sp. are usually a rose pest.

Although I don't like aphids, (but who does? besides the insects that eat them!) these are great shots!
