I agree with Darlene: this is a golden mantle ground squirrel. They could be easily mistaken due to the stripes onthe back and the general golden color.

I think this is a golden mantle ground squirrel. It doesn't have the face stripes like the least chipmonk. I grew up having golden mantles as pets & I quite sure that's what this is.
