Bluetongue Lizard

Tiliqua scincoides

Description:

15 cms juvenile?

Habitat:

Lying still on rock next to garden pond - outer suburban area, hilly, near National Park

Notes:

This little guy gave me the first opportunity to see how they swim. After I took the shot (must remember to turn off the 'frog' noise on camera) he decided to escape across our small pond. I was really impressed with his speed and agility in the water - could even be faster than on land.
