Cuora amboinensis

Description:

Special characteristic : All have a blackish olive head with three yellow stripes on the side... Cuora amboinensis is classified as Vulnerable by the IUCN. Cuora amboinensis can be quite difficult to breed in captivity, compared with other box turtles. Unfotunely this species is the most common hard-shelled chelonian species found in the food/medicinal markets of China.

Habitat:

Natural habitat is in river in South East Asia

Notes:

1. Adult turtle mating. 2. C. Amboinensis's eggs. Usually 5-6 eggs / laying 3. C.amboinensis's hatchlings. Its afraid from the camera and trying back to the egg shell. 4. Same C.amboinensis's hatchlings.
