A Water Monitor Lizard at Lumpini Public Park in Bangkok. This one was about 5-6 feet long. You do not have to look very hard to spot these magnificent creatures, there are many around the lakes in the park.
In Thailand, all monitor lizards are protected species.

I have been to thailand twice and seen these they are quite cool.
Nice spotting! Interesting and fortunate that we can still find such wildlife in urban areas.
