Soft ; often metallic ; penultimate segment of tarsus bilobed ; often swollen hind femora on male.Are rather elongated insects, soft-bodied and often with a metallic sheen. Order Coleoptera Family Oedemeridae
The adults are generally flower- feeders but larvae are wood borers.
