Plegadis falcinellus
Wading bird with a long and curved beak, with brown and reddish tones. The breeding adult is brown, very reddish, with iridescent, greenish and pink tones on the wings and on the back. On the face it has very striking white lines that border the corner of the bill - this one is grayish orange - and its legs are dark. The non-breeding adult is much duller, with a darker bill and no white lines on its edge, and with numerous elongated white spots on the neck and head. The young are even duller than the non-breeding adults. In flight it shows a very elongated and stylized appearance, with the head slightly drooping.
