Definitely a lark sparrow, nothing else has a clown face like that!

I was doing some looking into your bird and I think you are right - it being a Lark Sparrow "Chondestes grammacus". I used these references: http://birds.audubon.org/birds/lark-spar... and http://animals.nationalgeographic.com.au... I hope this helps :) Beautiful picture. Thank you for sharing :)
