Description:

Synonym: Tabebuia pentaphylla Common name: Flower purple, pink Guayacán, Oak. Family: Bignoniaceae Origin: Central and South America. m.s.n.m. 0000-2000 Height: 35 to 40 m. It can reach over 15 meters high, developed taproots and tabloids, green leaves are opposite, compound, digitate with 5 folioloselípticos ranging between 10 and 16 inches long: The flowers are lilac campanulate, arranged in terminal clusters, with 4 estambresdidínamos, dried fruit dehiscence in siliques, resembling a legume oblong 20 to 30 cms in length, opening release a large amount of seeds easily dispersed by air, because they are winged.

Notes:

The wood is highly prized in fine furniture industry. This species loses all its leaves to make way for the flowering, which is very striking. It is deciduous, fast growing and prolonged longevity, is appropriate for large green spaces, tabs and corridors where you have no restrictions.
