A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
From the family Tettigoniidae. Known variously as katydids, bush-crickets or long-horned grasshoppers. The family contains more than 6,400 species, most of which live in the tropics. Tettigoniids may be distinguished from grasshoppers by the length of their filamentous antennae, which may exceed their own body length, while grasshoppers' antennae are always relatively short and thickened. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tettigoniid...
Spotted in mixed lowland equatorial rainforest (coastal freshwater swamp forest/sago swamp)
