Description:

The local name is cockroach of the sea. The chiton strongly adheres to rocks. It is approximately 2 inches in length. Chitons have a dorsal shell which is composed of eight separate overlapping shell plates.

Habitat:

Chitons are marine and live on hard surfaces, such as on or under rocks, or in rock crevices. This species was found high in the intertidal zone, They can be exposed to the air and light for long periods.
