Conehead Katydid

Copiphora sp

Description:

Katydid from Copiphora genus, probably hastata species, founded in Veragua Natural Park (near port of Limón, Costa Rica). I think that is hastata species, however the dark red color of the eyes makes me doubt: if you search photos of C. hastata you will found individuals with white eyes mainly, but with the brown face like photo here. Note the long ovipositor.
