ladybug

Description:

Round shaped beetle with bright red wings, with multiple black spots symmetrical on each wing. Black and white thorax/head. Kind of like a Rorschach Test, but with a white blot on a black paper.

Habitat:

This little beetle is living on a crepe myrtle tree with others of its kind. They crawl around independent of one another. They don't seem to have a leader, or any relationship at all. Nor are they engaged in any industry, apart or together. Individuals simply tolerate one another and go about alone. Like pedestrians on the sidewalks of New York City. I'm surprised that these beetles are living in Alabama at all.

Notes:

One of them did have an intersecting path with another, so that it ran over the other like a speed bump. Neither bug seemed to notice. Not even, "Hey what was that?!" No. Just kept moving.
