Hover Fly

Eristalis sp.

Description:

Eristalis species often resemble honey bees.

Habitat:

Spotted on Sea Lavender (Argusia gnaphalodes) growing on a coastal dune.

Notes:

Unfortunately it was very windy and I was not able to get any more photos, particularly a dorsal view, so this will probably never be identified to exact species. If anyone has any ideas, please comment. Thanks!
