Leptoglossus zonatus
Leptoglossus zonatus is a species of leaf-footed bug, a type of true bug. It is found throughout much of South America, Central America, Mexico, and the southwestern United States. The bug is two centimeters in length, gray in color, with a zigzagging whitish band across its back and two distinctive yellowish spots on its anterior pronotum, the identifying characteristic for the species.
Found on the exterior wall of my office building. My office backs up to a creek and woods. Insect was about 1 - 1.5 inches long. It tolerated me until I got close, then it started walking and flew up higher.
Ehmm, I think you got the wrong one...
Yours is Zonatus not Phyllopus, note the different white band and the missing whitish/creamy spots on the pronotum in Phyllopus compared to yours...
Please, check again...
