unidentified spider

Description:

Hairy brown spider. Cephalothorax about 10 mm diameter, overall about 70-80 mm long.

Habitat:

Suburban neighborhood on mesic, tropical, insular lowland plateau.

Notes:

Spotted in a lawn. It was carrying a whitish disk about the size of a nickel. I wonder if it might have been an egg case. The spider does not appear to be a cane spider as the coloration of the cephalothorax is not the same as that in cane spider images online.
