Large-flowered Bellwort

Uvularia grandiflora

Description:

A single-stemmed plant with drooping, yellow, bell flowers, 1-2" long, individual flowers have 6 petals. It has long, pointed, drooping leaves, 1-3" long, the stem passes through the base of the leaf as they alternate along the main stem.

Habitat:

Spotted at Tamarac near Pine Lake in a wet, shaded deciduous woods. They are abundant on the refuge at this time of year.

Notes:

Large-flowered Bellwort is sometimes called merrybells.
