Chanterelle

Cantharellus cibarius

Description:

one of the most popular choice edible mushrooms and one of the easiest to recognize. Shallow forked gills that run partway down the stem and a color of white to bright gold identify this as a chanterelle.

Habitat:

Next to my driveway

Notes:

The sun streaming in through the trees made this mushroom even brighter than normal - photos straight form the camera & untouched
