American Gold Finch

this pine tree in my backyard is more than 50 ft tall .Birds love to sit right on the very top.

Tail doesn't match a yellowthroat.

I agree with Ashley. Hard to tell but the tail feathers look good, and they have recently been spotted now in the Concord area. 10 alone in Newhall park on the 12th

Looks like winter plumage American Goldfinch, but can't be certain from this angle
