Common Snapping Turtle

Chelydra serpentina

Notes:

This very large snapping turtle would not move off the road for some time, preventing me from continuing on this one-lane dike. The road was not wide enough to turn the car around so I was forced to wait it out. These turtle really can be belligerent!
