Jumping Spider

Pristobaeus sp.

Description:

Salticidae; Salticinae; Pristobaeus Simon, 1902. Pristobaeus sp. This spider displays many similarities with the Pristobaeus sp. shown in my Project Noah Spotting No. 2024025816. The Cephalothorax looks the same as does the abdomen, but it should be noted that the carapace is lighter in colour on this sp. when compared to the previous one. The main, and very obvious, difference is that the legs of this sp. are very much lighter. However, the white spots on the knees are pretty much identical.

Habitat:

This Pristobaeus sp. was spotted on an Arrowroot (Maranta arundinacea) in our front yard. Plant identification - http://www.stuartxchange.org/Araro
