Estuarine Crocodile

Crocodylus porosus

Description:

Largest of all living reptiles. One of the six crocodilian species considered dangerous to humans.

Habitat:

Estuarine crocodiles generally spend the tropical wet season in freshwater swamps and rivers, moving downstream to estuaries in the dry season, and sometimes traveling far out to sea.

Notes:

This photo is that of a juvenile, about 1.5 meters long and was basking in the sun when our boat passed by. Managed to get a few shots from a distant before it entered the river and submerged when we approached it.
