Pangshura tecta
This was a pet kept by a person in a tub. Couple of cute little fellows.
@chimetsetan - It was kept by a small guest house owner near a coastal village, probably caught during his fishing rounds, and kept as an attraction for kids. I had seen it while I was traveling, so can't contact him again. But thanks for the info!
it resembles so much to Kachuga tecta or indian roofed terrapin... i would suggest you to ask your friend about its correct id and if its native...he should know its illegal to keep native terrapins as pet.
Great identification! Thanks again! Would love if you can help with my other spottings as well, specially the spider!
I found him. See my suggestion above. A native species and if you scroll own to the last photo, you'll see a good ID photo
Oh, okay. Thanks Daniele! The closest I could find on google was a ridgeback turtle, but I am doubtful whether this one is one.
I've relocated this to Reptiles for you aneeshji! Strictly speaking it should be under Pets on this website but I wanted to let you know these are reptiles :-)
