Deer Mushroom

Pluteus cervinus

Description:

I was walking through the forest at work. And over the last few years I've become interested in macro-fungi, especially the mushroom. Every time I walk through the forest these organisms are just popping out like never before and I try to get down and take pictures when ever I'm carrying my camera.

Habitat:

Outdoors (Old growth forest, sunny)

Notes:

Identified using: Mushrooms of Ontario and Eastern Canada (http://www.lonepinepublishing.com/cat/97...)

@Mark,
Unfortunately I did not. This particular outing was for photography purposes. So I did a quick identification and moved on.
I now see that there are a few gills showing on the edge, but that only gives a part of the "gill picture."
