White-tailed Antelope Squirrel

Ammospermophilus leucurus

Description:

This attractive animal is a medium-sized ground squirrel that gets its name from the white underside of its tail. The back is grayish brown. A white stripe runs down its side and its belly is also white. Legs are a rusty brown.

Habitat:

Deserts and usually in rocky soils.
