Description:

Gray and brown banded snail. There was a large grouping of this and the Brown Garden Snail in this tree.

Habitat:

In pine tree along trail in mixed chaparral area.

Thank you for the suggestion Saarbrigger. C. hortensis and C. nemoralis haven't made it here to the west coast as far as I know. I believe Lars nailed the ID. Thank you!

Could be a "White-lipped snail" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White-lippe...) or a "grove snail" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grove_snail...), but I do not know if they have theire happitat in California too.
