Beautiful! I have seen Firewheels before but not like this! From what I read it is a cross between G. aristata and G. pulchella. Here's a link I found with more info in case you were interested: http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/g...

I had the same flower in my garden...I think it is a variation in the species...they are beautiful.

Thanks for the ID misako.hill. I didn't think it was the same flower at my earlier spotting http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/898... since this one's petals are trumpet and the center is a different color. I guess the flowers change a bit during maturity.
