Good to know..next time I pass by a residential area..I would try..I have always longed to taste a prickly pear or a persimmon..hope, i won't be beaten:):)

Seema, A good thing to know in California is that any fruit hanging over the sidewalk, even if the tree is on private property, is legal to harvest. It is polite to ask the homeowner, but it is not essential.
