Description:

Purlple LadyBug? Well looks like a ladybug anyway... any hints that would help me identify this bug?

Notes:

I have added a link i found of a similar beetle although the colors are not right (Ischyrus quadripunctatus) several other posible ones.. still cannot get neither the color nor the shape right

I did not found a match for Alticini, neither Colombia nor Ecuador and Peru. Sorry, cannot help you more.

Oh, I didn't see that Michael was here in the meanwhile. I usually have a lot of open windows for switching from one to the other but usually do not make a refresh of the page. In my eyes both are not the ones. The second one is probably from South Africa?

Looks for me like being a Chrysomelidae, Leaf Beetle.

The spots on the wings are also different. All in all i strange ladybug, but a nice beetle.
