Description:

This striking flower is .7-2 m (2-6 ft) in height. The main stem is usually unbranched and is somewhat hairy. Leaves are lanceolate to ovate with serrated margins. The blueish flowers are borne on a spike that may be up to .8 m (2 ft) in length.

Habitat:

Wetland edges and nearby uplands.
