Description:

Variable colours (buff, red, slate blue, light brown...).

Habitat:

Clear running waters of the United States.

Notes:

They feed on molluscs, small fish, carrion. Sometimes, at night, they leave the water in search of another, better, place. I saw this one in a private aquarium in Amsterdam.
