Xylophanes tersa

Description:

A large moth, probably about 4cm from head to tail, 4.5cm from wingtip to wingtip when wings are at rest.

hahaha. Thanks. Great for you! I've been doing the painted ladies for 3 years now. This guys take a little more time than the ladies though. It was something like 5 months before we had the moth. The kids had kind of forgotten about it, then a few weeks ago they were all excited to see something fluttering in the cage. We placed it out in the garden. It was worth the wait.

One of my favorites. I just reared one in my classroom from a caterpillar my second graders found at the school.
