A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Drosera intermedia
Spoon-leaf Sundew is circumboreal through out the northern hemisphere and at higher elevations of Cuba and South America with apparent regional differences in blade size; the tropical forms also do not form overwintering hibernacula. Often dense populations within its prefered habitat, they are too numerous to avoid walking all over while exploring bog habitat. A carnivorous plant and another childhood botany icon—as children are fascinated by the notion that a plant can “eat” animals, however few are stimulated to see for themselves as they grow into adulthood, having become bored and boring of such things. That's a shame, because these things are way cool.
