Description:

It is a bird associated with aquatic environments. It has a long, graduated tail, with short, round wings. The head, back and wings are black. The breast and belly are yellow, including the iris. The beak and legs are black. It has a yellow stain on the neck. When the young black-capped donacobius has brown iris instead of yellow and lacks the yellow stain in the neck.

Habitat:

It is found throughout Brazil in swamps, lakes, streams and rushes where you will find small organisms for food.
