It looks like a Karner Blue Butterfly. From what I'm reading on it, it says its an endangered species that lives in the midwest and the great lakes regions. It fits the description, but I'm not certain. I may have just named a look-a-like.
It looks like some kind of beetle pupa. I can't tell which species.
