Males are usually brown. Many females here in Colorado are also brown.
This is a young (immature) specimen.
This is a scarab beetle, family Scarabaeidae, subfamily Dynastinae. Not sure which genus or species.

She's ovipositing, too. Her abdomen is sunk into the soil in your image.
This is a mygalomorph spider (tarantulas, trapdoor spiders, etc), and appears freshly-molted.

Male longhorned bee, family Apidae, tribe Eucerini. Can't be more specific from this image alone.
